Technology

RECLINING HIBACK:

The Reclining Hiback creates the fastest automatic entry system. It fully folds down, creating a large opening to conveniently drop in your boot.

LSR BUCKLES:

Locking Slap Ratchet buckles lock down to secure your preferred footstrap tightness. Either Set-it and Forget-it for the Automatic mode, or just use them like regular buckles for the two-strap experience.

ACTIVE-STRAP:

As you recline the hiback, the footstrap gets actively lifted out of the way, so you can easily and conveniently get your boot in and out. The straps hug your boot with the tightness at which you first set them, each & every time you drop in.

HYBRID STRAPS:

Designed to feel and work like a two-strap, the Hybrid strap’s ankle-toe connection keeps the straps in place for easy entry. It also transfers energy more efficiently and allows the straps to be ridden a bit less tight.

SLIP-N-GRIP PLATE:

Reduces friction with the outsole of your snowboard boot. Allows you to easily slide in and out, without compromising the underfoot comfort of our 2.5° Bankbeds.

HEELCUP ROLLER:

The heelcup roller reduces friction and guides the heel of the boot down, for buttery-smooth entry and exit.

RELEASE LEVER:

Push to unlock the engagement system and lift your boot up & out. The release lever is located on the medial side of the baseplate for maximum ergonomic efficiency and protection from external triggers.

HEEL PEDAL:

The heel pedal activates the automatic closing of the hiback and straps, and locks the engagement system. This mechanism is self-cleaning to avoid snow build-up, and there are three engagement clicks for increased security.

BASEPLATE
MATIC-SERIES

Using the same tried-and-tested shape and nylon/glass mix as our beloved Axis baseplate but with additional Drop-In Technology components. Uses the same multi-disk, so works with all snowboards on the market.

1: HEEL PEDAL

Flips the hiback up and locks the engagement system. Self-clearing to avoid snow build-up.

2: HEELCUP ROLLER

Guides your heel down into the binding.

3: RELEASE LEVER

Push and lift your boot up and out. Located on the inside side for comfort and protection.

4: HYBRID STRAPS

The fastest automatic entry system. It fully folds down, creating a large opening to conveniently drop in your boot. Add up to 12° of extra forward lean when upright.

5: ACTIVE STRAPS

As the highback reclines, the footstrap lifts up out of the way. When you close the binding, the straps come down, retightening to the same position.

6: RECLINING HIBACK

The fastest automatic entry system. It fully folds down, creating a large opening to conveniently drop in your boot. Forward lean adjustment to X degrees.

7: SLIP-N-GRIP PLATE

Reduces friction under your boot, allowing you to slide in and out easily.

8: BASEPLATE MATIC-SERIES

Using the same tried-and-tested shape and nylon/glass mix as our beloved Axis baseplate but with additional Drop-In Technology components. Uses the same multi-disk, so works with all snowboards on the market.

9: LSR BUCKLES

Locking Slap Ratchet buckles lock down to secure your preferred footstrap tightness. Can also be used like regular buckles.

Drop In technology is a collection of unique Nidecker innovations. Working together on Supermatic, they make getting in and out easy and intuitive. Multiple engagement notches in the mechanism ensure total security, even if partially obstructed by snow & ice.

what our riders say

& media feedback

Does this work as a true Step In? Yes. Is it going to be for everyone? No. I think if we're going to have to invest in Step Ins yet again, this is the best version out there.

- Angry Snowboarder -

Bottom line: these bindings work super well, they're so easy to set up, so easy to use, you can use them with any boot, they have all the functions of a regular binding like forward lean and two straps… they just work really well. I didn't think I was going to be convinced by them; I thought I don't really have an issue with strapping in and strapping out but it's so fun and so easy

- Malcolm Moore -

As with all ‘revolutionary products’ a healthy dose of skepticism is encouraged. As a general rule of thumb we take all things with a pinch of salt, and we were apprehensive about the Supermatics initially. But after seeing them in the flesh, trying them out for ourselves and trying to pick apart any discernible faults we have to admit even the luddites among us are converts.

- Whitelines Magazine -

Overall, I was really impressed with the Supermatic. As far as easy/speed entry bindings go, I found these the easiest of any I've tried. And they've got good performance too, which is of course the most important thing!
