Pierre Vaultier feels most comfortable when holding in the edge of his snowboard on steep, icy slopes while hurtling towards the bottom of the mountain at speeds most riders only experience in their dreams. He’s a 4-time winter Olympian in boardercross, winning gold medals in his last two appearances, at Sochi 2014 and Pyeongchang 2018. He won the FIS World Championships in 2017 and has amassed an impressive collection of Chrystal Globes at his home in the French Alps earned by finishing atop the FIS Snowboardcross rankings 6 times between 2008 and 2018. Alongside those accomplishments, he also finished on the podium of the FIS overall alpine rankings twice, placing 3rd in 2008 and 2nd in 2010. Just down the road from the town of Briançon where he was born on June 24th, 1987, far from the standard contest circuit, in one of the world’s mythical freeride meccas he conquered all comers in the longest timed off-piste race on snow at the daunting Derby de la Meige in 2011.

For his outstanding service to the French nation as an Olympic champion athlete, Pierre was decorated with title of Knight of the Legion of Honor in 2014 by President François Hollande, and awarded the National Order of Merit in 2018 by President Emmanuel Macron.
